Security sources said that the death toll from a car bomb explosion in southern Baghdad today, Thursday, has risen to 51, in addition to more than 70 wounded.
This comes as the terrorist organization ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombing.
The security sources indicated that the car was parked in a crowded street full of parking lots and used car dealers in the Police District. A doctor said the death toll was likely to rise because many of the injured were in critical condition.
And the bombing is the deadliest to hit Baghdad this year, and it is the second bombing targeting a car market, and another took place on Wednesday.
